The goal of my research is to inform our understanding of mental health problems in children, adolescents, and young adults. To that end, my research focuses on the associations among internalizing disorders (depression and anxiety disorders), externalizing disorders (especially conduct disorder), and alcohol and drug problems among youth. I am interested in how these types of psychopathology are associated with each other, both concurrently and longitudinally. In addition, I research how these forms of psychopathology relate to health problems such as obesity.
